Spectral technology empowers industrial upgrading, and industry-university-research-application collaboration promotes high-quality development
Changsha Evening News, Changsha Pocket Edition, August 12 (Full-Media Reporter Zhu Zehuan) - Recently, the "Spectroscopy Conference of Hunan Province," a sub-venue of the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Hunan Provincial Association for Science and Technology, themed "Mutual Drive and Integration, Leading the Future," was held in Changsha. Nearly 200 experts, scholars, business representatives, and heads of scientific research institutions from the fields of national spectroscopic technology research, application, and instrument and equipment manufacturing gathered together to conduct in-depth exchanges and discussions on the innovation of spectroscopic technology and its deep integration with the industry, jointly drawing up a new blueprint for the development of Hunan's "4×4" modern industrial system empowered by spectroscopic technology.
This conference is one of the important special academic activities of the 2025 annual meeting of the Hunan Provincial Association for Science and Technology. Closely related to the theme of "deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation", it focuses on the supporting role of spectroscopy technology in key areas such as high-end manufacturing, environmental monitoring, biomedicine, geology and mineral resources. It aims to accelerate the transformation and implementation of scientific research achievements, build a closely collaborative innovation ecosystem of industry, academia, research, and application, and inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of related industries in Hunan Province and even the whole country.
The conference specially invited 24 renowned experts in the industry to deliver special reports on topics such as cutting-edge advancements in spectroscopy technology, solutions to industry pain points, and future development trends. These reports provided solid intellectual support and scientific strategic guidance for the innovation of spectroscopy technology and the high-quality development of the industry.
"Heavy metals are difficult to be biodegraded, but they can be enriched thousands of times through biomagnification in the food chain and eventually enter the human body," said Zhang Yan, a senior engineer at the Hunan Provincial Ecological Environment Monitoring Center. For heavy metal pollution, inductively coupled plasma spectrometry can be used, employing a fully automated heavy metal analysis system. Through the fully automated workstation software and intelligent sampling system, sample digestion to sample analysis can be completed with one click. Compared to the traditional chemical color development + spectrophotometry method, it is characterized by being "faster, more accurate, more precise, and more comprehensive.".
In addition to updates on testing methods, Li Chunhua, the person in charge of laboratory informatization construction at Changsha Institute of Mining and Metallurgy Testing Technology Co., Ltd., also introduced the practice and application of empowering third-party laboratory testing processes with LIMS technology. According to the introduction, this platform not only fully supports inspection and testing services in fields such as minerals, metals, environment, and battery materials, but also encompasses multiple domains including resource management, quality management, financial management, and proficiency testing. It can accomplish tasks such as information collection, data testing, information transmission, and report generation in a one-stop manner, truly achieving visualized control over the entire testing process.
In addition, Beijing Puxi General Instrument Co., Ltd. and Changsha Qiulong Instrument and Equipment Co., Ltd. have reached a strategic cooperation agreement, committed to achieving complementary advantages and coordinated development in the field of scientific instrument application and service. Chenzhou Zhongxin Testing Co., Ltd. and Hunan Jinrongyuan Instrument and Equipment Co., Ltd. have signed a technical collaboration agreement, focusing on the research and development of spectroscopy and related precision instrument technologies, as well as industrialization upgrades, to jointly discuss the future. The implementation of these two collaborations has built an efficient bridge for spectroscopy technology to move from the laboratory to the market, marking a substantial step towards industrial collaborative innovation.
During the meeting, the delegates visited the modern laboratory of Changsha Mining and Metallurgy Institute Testing Technology Co., Ltd. as a holding subsidiary of Changsha Mining and Metallurgy Research Institute Co., Ltd., a direct subordinate enterprise of China Minmetals Corporation, one of the Fortune Global 500 companies. Changsha Mining and Metallurgy Institute Testing Technology Co., Ltd. possesses professional qualifications in inspection and testing such as CMA, CNAS, and PTP. It is the first designated quality inspection institution for lithium carbonate futures on the Guangzhou Futures Exchange and the first designated inspection institution for cast aluminum alloy futures on the Shanghai Futures Exchange. It leads the domestic market in various fields such as mining and metallurgical material testing, new material characterization, and battery material evaluation.

This conference is not only a vivid practice of the Hunan Provincial Precision Instrument Testing Society in promoting technological innovation and serving the construction of the "4×4" modern industrial system, but also effectively promotes the deep integration of the innovation chain, industry chain, and talent chain, contributing significant "spectral power" to accelerating the cultivation of new productive forces and building a highland of technological innovation with core competitiveness in Hunan.
The conference was jointly hosted by the Hunan Provincial Association for Science and Technology and the Hunan Precision Instrument Testing Society, and co-organized by the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Artificial Intelligence and Sensor (Including Inspection and Testing) Industry Chain Promotion Office and Changsha Mining and Metallurgy Institute Testing Technology Co., Ltd.
